iambic pentameter what, what!
Even though they are your clever disguise
Seeing through them, easier said than done
Let’s escape beyond the bright mocking sun
There’s this longing now for you I’m feeling
Exploding out of me to the ceiling
But I hold your hand away it will go
I want to hide with you under the snow

Weekly Haiku #9
Through harmless affection, I can
Feel the connection
Feel the connection
Between you and me, we are
Rhyming from land to sea
Rhyming from land to sea
Belonging so close, we love
'Till we decompose

mini-Sestina
The young girl was afraid
She shudders at the darkness
Her parents urge on her success
The bows in her hair, cause her to be limited
The young boy was afraid
To hide inside the darkness
To get dirty, to feel limited
To make others feel inferior by his own success
The two children are limited
In their feelings and success
They don’t want to be afraid
So they send the mirror to the darkness
And with that they have success
And no longer is there darkness
How can they be afraid
Without the mirror they can not be limited

Weekly Haiku #6 (Post-Fail)
We can see the smog of breath
Pain from cold fingers
Pain from cold fingers
Sore stinging cheeks from being
Continually
Continually
Smacked, defaced by frigid air
My legs run from it
My legs run from it
Then I’m attacked by warm air
Surrounded by smiles
Surrounded by smiles
Reaching for a mug filled with
Brown liquid and love
So I decided to write a sequence Haiku since I've been failing lately. So, I hope this makes up for it! Also it's been awfully chilly around these parts...

You are...
there's no extent to what of.
You are strong,
in body and in mind.
You are talented,
simply because you try.
You are intelligent,
because of your willingness to learn.
You are beautiful,
because you are different.
You are powerful,
the world is both impressed and itimidated.
You are loved,
because of the love you give and bring.
You are you,
All these things
And so much more.

The Sun and the Clouds

The sun seems radiant
It's bright and bold
Perhaps too bright
And it tells us how to think
Us clouds try to cover it
We must realize that the sun's rays
They are not the brightest
We can cover the rays
We ourselves,
Have a bright white color
We can affect the world
Our powers change the world
We use our rain to add beauty
To add flowers and keep the grass green
We use our lightning to rid the world
Of the trees that our dark and looming
And our winds, our winds can change so many things
The sun's powers, though great
Can sometimes be harmful
Though the sun was meant to shed light
But on some certain summers
The light can burn
Though it's not to bright
That us clouds can not conceal it
We must always use our winds
We can not allow the sun to shine through us
We must keep the light from being too bright
And the Sun from becoming too powerful

A Couple of Haikus About Art
But art should inspire bills
That can change the world
If you feel transformed
And if you can't stop thinking
You have witness art
Haikus are not art
Art should have no restrictions
Stupid Haikus. HA
It's true, I don't think Haikus are art. More like fun with words!

Zinnia
There's a space in my garden
Where an orange zinnia grows
It stands out among the rest
It's color is different
It's color is bold
Though it tends to try to blend in
Among the grass and other flowers
Which to me are unremarkable
The petals
Oh, the petals take your breath away
Far, far from ordinary
A bright orange
Just the petals causes all around to stop
But the glow coming from its yellow center
Is underrated and truly special
It is beautifully imperfect
Few notice it, but when they do
They never stop
I breathe in its scent
Indescribable and indefinable
Only to say it is unmistakable
I allow the scent to fill me up
To carry me away
I know I shouldn't
The scent is forbidden
Big misunderstanding eyes find my orange zinnia
For some reason it's not right
Its glow cannot stay in my garden
The big eyes have hands
They take it away quickly
But carefully as if not to harm me
What will replace it?
A tall stoic sunflower?
A daisy that grows too close to the ground?
These will have to grow in another place
For that spot was for an orange zinnia
There's an empty space in my garden
Where the zinnia belongs
And felt safe
Its glow was brighter than ever
My eyes gaze upon the space
I hold onto a memory
Of an unmistakable scent
And an underrated color
And a glow like no other
(I know the picture's not of a zinnia. No one's perfect. But I'd say it's pretty good for being taken by a Walmart camera.)
